Mercedes 300SE AUTO

£15,750.00

MERCEDES 300SEb SALOON

This car is one of the rarest W108 variants, the short wheelbase non air suspension saloon with the big 3 litre 190bhp fuel injected straight six from the 300SE coupe/300SEL saloon - not the 280SE engine.  It has automatic transmission and power steering plus a full black leather interior.

Although collected from the factory by a Brigadier Roberts of Tunbridge Wells  KNJ350E was bought new in January 1967 by William Hamilton Byrne of Tunbridge Wells, the husband of Anne Hamilton Byrne the Australian cult leader (in fact the old V5 is in her name) and the only other owner was a North London collection who we don’t believe ever used the car. The total mileage of 39,000 is documented and fully reflected in the condition of the vehicle.

Some re-chroming has been done, new brake flexi-hoses fitted and the injection pump has been rebuilt by Mercedes specialist Roger Edwards earlier this year. It has also benefitted from a new compensator spring to the rear suspension. Inside the wood and black leather are virtually perfect with new carpets throughout. The head liner is perfect and the boot looks as if it has never been used.  The car comes with its original handbook, list of distributors, parts book and service booklet with data card plus a brochure.

We at Cotswold Classic Car Restorations can arrange and organise all shipping and transport details as well as offering advice on maintenance and getting the most out of owning such a rare and beautiful piece of history.
