the hot hatch era

The 80s was a time when performance and speed were highly valued, and hot hatches were seen as a way to express this enthusiasm without breaking the bank. The popularity of motorsports and rallying also contributed to the appeal of hot hatches, as they were often used in these events and had a certain cool factor associated with them.

Overall, the combination of practicality, affordability, and performance made hot hatches a beloved car category in the 80s, and their popularity continues to this day.
