Details

Introduced in 1967 the MGC had a 3 LTR straight-6 engine producing 145 BHP at 5250rpm and fed its power through an overdrive gearbox which was capable of propelling it to 120mph and 0-60 in just under 10 seconds. The MGB body shell needed considerable revision particularly around the engine bay and to the floor pan, externally the only differences were the distinctive bonnet bulge and tear drop to accommodate the relocated radiator and carburettor clearance. It had better brakes than the MGB, with 15-inch painted wheels, a lower geared steering rack, and special torsion bar suspension with telescopic dampers.

This beautiful MGC GT is in fantastic condition and comes with a very comprehensive history file which really is worth taking some time to read through as it goes right back to the time of purchase in 1969! The total of receipts do really add up to many thousands in its life time and all works appear to be undertaken by MG specialists, there really will be very few cars out there with sort of history most losing the first few years but this really is exceptional! The vehicle also featured in practical classics having works carried out to it over a number of issues including a bare metal Vermilion red respray.

Condition wise the car looks for nothing and features black leather interior along with its bright red paint work and gleaming bright work. The car drives really very well indeed with no knocks clonks or rattles from the drive train, the overdrive is quick and eager to engage and disengage as it should. the brakes are sharp and the lusty straight six straight starts easily from cold and pulls cleanly all the way to the red line in every gear, couple this with its fine handling and fantastic noise from the singing six pot and easy to maintain mechanics makes this one of the finest classics on the road that you can use every day with out worry.

CCCR has been engaged as agents to sell this vehicle due to the currents owners need for funds to complete a house build otherwise he would be very much keeping it! The vehicle comes with a fresh MOT and service ready for a summer of fun adventures with its new lucky owners. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information. the vehicle features on our website at Cotswold classic car restorations based near Cirencester in Gloucestershire.
