Mercedes 230SL

Case Study

Used for Goodwood Revival in 2015, this Mercedes 230 SL Pagoda, that Cotswold Classic Car Restorations have the pleasure in marketing on behalf of their client, is undoubtedly one of the nicest cars on the market today.

The car’s history file is comprehensive; detailing works undertaken in its life including a major restoration involving inner wings front and rear, sills inner and outer, and doors, all using genuine Mercedes panels. The works have been photographed. Notably the vehicle was jigged during this work ensuring the car is as straight as the day it left the factory. There is even a blue book detailing the fuel that has been bought for the car; its mileage and general service works along with a box file of receipts!

The car has only had five former keepers and one had a complete, no expense spared engine rebuild, including new oil pump, pistons/liners crank regrind etc. all carried out by ourselves. The vehicle is only offered for sale due to a clash of circumstances, otherwise the present owner would not be selling.

The car has matching numbers, starts beautifully first time, drives superbly with smooth gear changes, all whilst giving a comfortable, luxurious ride and looking fabulous, earning admiration wherever it goes. This is the perfect car for upper class entertaining whether that be days out to the races, or a week in the south of France.

The car comes with removable hard top and stand to enable practical use in any weather. This is a serious sale of one of the finest examples on the market today
